Balsamic Red Wine Reduction Recipe

How to make a Balsamic Red Wine Reduction? In this video you will learn how easy it is to make such a versatile reduction sauce that you can use for a variety of recipes. With just a few ingredients, we make this delightful wine reduction sauce. If you have never had a delicious balsamic wine reduction drizzled over meats or even fruits, then you are truly missing out. For the balsamic red wine reduction recipe you will need red wine (preferably one you would like to drink, but perhaps not your very favorite bottle that you have been saving for the last decade), honey, and a fairly good quality balsamic vinegar.

It takes a little time to cook the wine down to a syrupy consistency, but be careful not to burn it. If you need a larger amount to reduce, a wine country chef once told us the trick for a smooth syrupy reduction rather make 2 or 3 batches instead one larger one.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 cup Red Wine
1 Tsp Honey or more

The honey gives a little weetness and the balsamic adds the tartness. You can make this balsamic red wine reduction sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. We always have a few jars pre-made with varying sweetness so we can add it to a recipe. This particular sauce  will be used for our fresh Heirloom Tomato Salad recipe as a dressing.

This wine reduction is great to have ready for a variety of recipes. The layer of flavors will enhance your dish and is healthier than most store bought salad dressings or sauces!
