When we received a bottle of Gary Farrell Chardonnay 2008 we were waiting for a perfect moment to open and we put it in the wine cellar. And as you now in life there is no perfect moment so we decided to make it one now and open this nice Chardonnay. The 2008 vintage shows a lemon-gold color with medium intensity and bright clarity in appearance. The developing nose has medium plus intensity and shows ripe apple, pear, acacia blossom, lemon, toast, popcorn and vanilla.
The palate is dry with medium plus acidity, body, flavor intensity and length, showing additional notes of citrus peel, butterscotch and touch of oak. Nice long finish. The wine’s lively acidity and supple viscosity makes it an excellent partner to food.
