2010 Ancient Peaks Sauvignon Blanc

We will be tasting today Ancient Peaks Sauvignon Blanc and are taking you to a historic ranch. This ranch has been visited by gunslingers, missionaries and even outlaws since the 18th century and is located at the most southern region of Paso Robles appallation and now is a family owned winery. Actually by 3 families who are passionate about this unique ranch. The ranch is 14 miles from the ocean and so the grapes benefiting from the lovely coastal fog.
This 2010 Sauvignon Blanc aged in stainless steal for 4 months. On the label you can see the outline of the Santa Lucia mountain range and the peaks are called Ancient Peaks.
The soil is rich from volcanic activities and filled with ancient sea bed. All that unique terrain makes these wines so special
NAME: Ancient Peaks Sauvignon Blanc
WINE MAKER: Mike Sinor
REGION: Paso Robles – Margarita vineyard  – California
COLOR: pale blond with sunshine in the glass. You can see small tiny bubbles from the minerality
NOSE: Tropical fruits, pineapple, citrus and lime
TASTE:
J: White apricot and stone fruit and grapefruit
C: Goose berries and nectarines
J: I even get some sea salt and the Margarita vineyard gives the crisp fruit character to this wine
BODY: Medium body
RATING:

FOOD PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:  pan-seared halibut, grilled lime chicken, fresh oysters and citrus shrimp tacos.
CHARACTER: The wine has elegant food forward approchable style a personality just like Miranda Lambert, the country singer.
