Bonterra Rosé ’09 with pizza and pool…

Bonterra Rosé ’09 with pizza and pool…

Oh the seductive power of PINK! If you are a rosé wine lover then you know exactly what we mean by that – you either Love it or Hate it! Most rosé wines and this one are perfect for a hot summer day with light beachy cuisine, but we are really fortunate to be living in Southern California’s mild climate and have rosé on our table year around.

After debating what to have for dinner, we picked up an extra large Hawaiian pizza since the evening was balmy and made us feel a little lazy. We had a Bonterra Rosé from Mendocino County just waiting for an opportune pairing and this was it. The ham and pineapple on the Hawaiian pizza actually played nicely with the fruity aromas of the wine and made the lazy evening even more pleasant.

This wine is made from organically grown grapes and Bonterra practices composting and biodiversity so you can feel better about drinking it.

The price is right – we got this for $12.99.

This great rosé won DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL in the 2011 SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE Wine Competition. Zesty and serious, the vivacious ’09 Bonterra Rose is one of California’s best effort in the dry rose category; crisp aftertaste.

Now to our wine tasting.

Wine: 2009 Rosé

Winery: Bonterra Organic Vineyards

Grape: Sangiovese – Zinfandel – Carignane – Grenache
